The story, and your place in it

Every episode, someone new picks up the key. Next time, it could be you.

THE PIT is set in a city where everyone is issued the same gray clothes. In Episode 0, factory inspector Yeonu finds a golden key, meets Golky, and starts waking the city up, one person at a time.

Here's the twist: Yeonu isn't the only hero. For every new episode we take one real person from the applications, turn them into a character, and hand them the key. Your face. Your shape. Your story. Your city.

No casting call. No followers needed.

An avatar engine built by measuring 1,800 real bodies

LECPLE measured 51 body points on 1,800 actors with 21 4K volumetric cameras, building a database of more than 150,000 body data points. That data maps the proportions in your photo onto a character, and fits the clothes to that body.

Questions?

Does it cost anything?

No. Applying, character creation and the episode itself are all free. We never ask selected applicants for money. There's no appearance fee either. Instead, you receive the finished episode and your character artwork as a gift.

How do you choose? Do I need to be good-looking?

Each episode, one person is drawn at random from all applicants. Looks, follower counts, age and job have no effect on the draw. The whole point of this story is that everyone has their own color. We don't slim down your body either.

What are my photos used for, and how are they stored?

Photos are used only to capture your face and body features for the character. Your original photos never appear in the video. If you aren't selected, your photos and information are deleted as soon as the round ends. If you are selected, your materials are deleted one year after production. You can request deletion by email at any time.

What happens if I'm selected?

We'll email you to confirm it's really you, and may ask for a few extra photos. There's no filming, acting or recording. Before the episode is finished, we show you the character design and ask for your approval.

Can I apply from any country?

Yes. The series has no dialogue, so anyone from anywhere can be the hero. Write your story in English, or in your own language if that's easier. We'll manage.

Can minors apply?

You must be 14 or older. If you're under 19, you need a parent or guardian's consent, and we'll run a consent check with them if you're selected.

If I'm not picked, do I have to apply again?

In your confirmation email you can choose “keep me in future draws”, and you'll automatically be included next time. If you don't, we delete your materials when the round ends and you're welcome to apply again later.

Can brands or companies take part?

For clothing sponsorship, city or venue collaborations and character licensing, email us. We design native collaborations that fit naturally inside an episode.
